My worst Christmas was when I was about 13, I wanted to be a "Adult"
and not a kids. So I told my mom & dad that I wanted them to give me ONLY a few things. On Christmas, all of my sisters & brothers were getting & giving gifts, I only got a few things like how I ask for. NOT fun! trust me, be a kid and have FUN with your family! :D:D WOW! this is a LOONNGG comment. :D Sorry! :D

  3. I think my worst Christmas was the year I had my daughter a week before Christmas. I had complications and had to go back to the hospital for surgery, and was so sick I missed most of her first Christmas!

  4. My worst Christmas happened the first year I was studying in the States. I'd flown back home for the holidays, and I was so excited to see my family again. I brought gifts for everyone with handmade labels, the works.

After we cam back from church on Christmas Eve, my little brother and I decided we couldn't wait to open our presents, and my mom said go ahead. My father got upset about this, though (he was the controlling kind who wanted everything done just so, and he thought we should wait till Christmas Day). So he left the room. I followed him to ask if he wanted to open his present with us, and he slammed the door shut as I was talking.

I went back to the living room and started crying. My mom was furious. My father seemed to realize he'd gone a bit far, and offered me five hundred dollars as some sort of apology. I didn't know what to say - though I reconsidered going home for Christmas the next year. Third year, I just stayed in the States.

Now, of course, I wish I'd taken the $500. ;)

  5. I would have to say the worst Christmas I had was the one right after my mom died. She died in December and its still hard to get happy about the Holidays.

  6. My worst Christmas ever was when I was a child. My bf had a doll that I wanted really bad. There was a present under the tree that I just knew was that doll. On Christmas, I opened it first just imagining playing with my doll. But no......it was a red plaid umbrella. I was crushed.

  7. My worst Christmas...geesh, I guess I've been lucky..most were pretty good. The only instance I can think of is when I received a duplicate present....mom bought me a particular calendar a few weeks before Christmas and ended up giving me the same calendar as one of my presents. (gotta love her)

I'd love to enter this contest! The book cover drew me in from the start...

The worst Christmas ever was in 2001, but I don't want to be a downer on your blog and go into details.

The BEST Christmas was when I was a child. I thought I was done opening up all my presents, when the doorbell rang. It was my BF's dad, who had a big present for me. He gave me a Cabbage Patch doll that, at the time, was impossible to find. She had brown eyes and brown hair just like me!

  10. My worst Christmas was the year my hubby's job took us to Vegas to live. Family was 2000 miles away, and we were Broke. Mailed off gifts to the grandkids, but we had no tree, no decorations and no groceries. We did have comps for free buffet at a local casino, and that was our Christmas lunch. Most depressing Christmas ever!

Well, my worst Christmas was the one when I was 11 and my mom was in the hospital because she had suffered a major heart attack. She died just a few months later :(
