Alien story, hmmm...
ReplyDeleteI think the Twilight Zone episode "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street" is really good. That's the only one I can think of right now.
Thanks for the contest, I've been wanting to read this one for a while. : )
Hi there Haley, this contest is right up my alley as I actually have a blogsite devoted to all things alien (no tinfoil hats, though lol).
ReplyDeleteFrom ufos to close encounters or alien abductions, it is such a complicated topic (which gets further twisted by dreams/hoaxes/disinfo/nutcases etc).
With that said, I've been researching this area for approx 12years so I can vouch for the accuracy of the following TRUE personal story:
In 1998 I awoke one night (not a lucid dream or false awakening - I know the diff)and actually SAW a non-typical 'gray' alien hovering/crawling atop my body. I say 'non-typical' because - despite the imagery in the media - this creature was so beyond one's ability to 'imagine', it was truly 'alien' in a way I simply can't get across with mere words.
It's head was typical, yet rougher or bumpier, and the being had a faint green bio-luminescent 'glow' like you would see in an oceanic creature. Mind you, my room was pitch black as I sleep with no night light & curtains closed.
It appeared to be 'swimming' across my body, perhaps 6 inches above me in a crawling type motion. And the eyes are ... wow. The movies don't do that justice either. You just fall into them lol (bizarre, huh?)
Anyway, what affected me most of all were the disturbingly long thin arms - one of which was extended towards my face. The arm was so thin there was virtually no wrist, as we think of it.
And then (truth) the moment I looked into those eyes, I simply turned my head to the right on my pillow and instantly fell right back to sleep. Which is something I never do, being a very light sleeper due to back discomfort.
I'm still curious to this day, hence the blogsite & continued research. Although at this point (after a few more bizarre experiences) I'm more annoyed than awed :P The whole 'alien' thing boils down to not so much a belief, as experience.
Anyhoo - sorry for the uber-lengthy post, but it's not an easy story to describe. I look forward to what others have to contribute.
Kewl contest idea, Haley.
Please enter me (I follow), as I'd really LOVE to get to read this book. Thanks bunches :)
Definitely ET. I loved that book. I think there is something nice about this one since usually aliens are perceived as harmful or bad or wierd, but ET is one that gave the alien a heart and soul and a loveable impression that we could relate to and feel a connection to him.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite alien movie is Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I remember watching it as a kid and playing the alien communication "tune" on the piano. The little boy being sucked through the door always scared me though. I was so glad he was okay at the end.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :0)
My favorite aliem movie is Galazy Quest. I just love that movie. It is so funny!
ReplyDeleteET- I saw the movie many times over the years.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower and would love to win this title.

I haven't read any alien books yet but I've just started reading In Aug 09 so not even a year yet. I've seen lots of aliens on The Outer Limits and some on the Twilight show. One that we have on DVD is The Outer Limits-Aliens Among Us Collection. There was one On there I remember pretty well called Alien Shop: Power can be used for good, even from an exotic alien. This power can be used to heal instead of destroy.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to win this!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :D:D:D

'Communion' by Whitley Strieber is a must read as he is a respected author who believes he has been visited and abducted by aliens repeatedly. Christopher Walken adds to the creepiness in the movie of the same name.
