Review: Gifted

Gifted: lovely little things to knit and crochet by Mags Kandis
Genre: Knitting, Crocheting, crafting
ISBN: 9781596681781
Pub date: July 27th 2010 by Interweave Press
Rating: 4.5

Gifted was right up my alley. I love making things that don’t take too much time, energy, or money, but are still sweet and heartfelt and usable gifts. So Gifted was totally my thing!

There are two sections to the book: Gifts for the Body and Gifts for the Soul. Gifts for the Body focuses on wearable things like hats, scarves, a pair of mittens, a baby jacket, socks etc. Gifts for the Soul are other things like tea pot cozies, knitting needle holders, knit felted hearts… and then there’s a few sewing patterns and recipes thrown in. And who doesn’t love sachets or Mexican hot chocolate or Ginger syrup?

Gifted is the perfect book to have if you wait until the last minute to knit up a gift for a special occasion, or if you have forty-five minutes to knit up a random gift for someone and you’re not quite sure what to make.

Recommendation: beginner through advanced knitters who like accessories and quick knits with larger needles (US 5-15).
